A poem and artwork from a book I’m working on entitled Sovereigns Of The Seasons
My summer spoiled and idle,
Wages of weak timidity.
Burn my copper baubles.
I beg new bargains of the sky.
Rain! Throw grime, glitter.
Waters pound and purge my eye.
Rose lens delusions shatter.
I ask new bargains of the sky.
Wind! Song of command,
Demanding with your cello cry.
Dust dismissed, corrects my road.
I call new bargains from the sky.
Thunder! Shaping, taming stone.
My thoughts fight infinity.
Cities bend to my vision.
I plot new bargains with the sky.
Lightning! Immediate, intricate.
Oh disciplining electricity.
Blazing fire force my fate.
I strike new bargains with the sky.
The storm suffers no softness.
I serve strong handed, clear eyed
My mentor, judge, and witness.
I seal new bargains with the sky.
