Pumpkin Pulse
A thousand seedling words
Drawn out by discerning winds,
Riding upwards, reaching outwards
Siren soil calls them back in.
Roots dive the deeping past
Finding form in ancient knowing.
Grain ocean, silent, vast
But sharpening their growing.
Fruit fed on wind and rain
Word swelling to a line
Cycles chase again, again
In ever-quickening time.
Fruit bloats, strains the vine
In the copper coloured season.
Pumpkin's push beyond the line
Peduncle's pinning reason.
Seeds spike the inner ocean.
That swelling, teeming tide
Forces the shell to open
Insight opens, flying wide.
Needle seeds find their way,
That steady fruit forged swords.
Knowing has the new to pay,
A thousand seedling words.
