A nice summer poem and artwork about bees - if made by Disintegration era Robert Smith (of the cure).... From the Sovereigns of the Seasons collection
Honey Alchemy
I slipped into a smaller state
Rogue minds, pause process
Lidded eyes, a cracked gate
Self created snares digress.
Flower stems are oaken trunks,
Tipped with silken nests.
Honeybees - nectar drunk
Gather gold from east to west.
He lifts legs, shining gilt,
Bright powder for walls and wine.
Alchemy fed, alchemy built.
Future focused liquid lines.
I join the colony celebrating
Iris scrapes, flakes of roses.
Vox veritas, social shaping,
Pollen honed to higher purposes.
Hexagons: holy, five flats adored
With our passion for star spires.
Shapes speak of oneness ordered,
While we bless the bladed fires.
The slow slink of honey drips,
Free, fragrant, intoxicant, idle.
Duality of pollen pips
Contrasting ordered cells.
I visit from crumbling cites
Where desires roam like dust.
Between forgeries and fallacies,
Envy and ego creep like rust.
Writers rant and artists rave
In cities of song and stone.
Dust blooms, powder blazes
Fade as I return alone.
